The Drama of Crude Oil Extractions in Contemporary Photography
There used to be a huge variety of flora and fauna in the Niger delta. Yet for decades a catastrophic scenario is happening there and nobody can truly estimate the lasting impact of its consequences.
Few people pay attention to the fatal side effects of crude oil extractions. Back-lit cabinets with photos from this region exemplify the ecologic and social tragedies of that region. Visitors see the consequences of globalisation and the fight for resources and are encouraged to start thinking about their own actions. The exhibition is complemented by objects from the Ethnological Collection.
