The aquarium

The Aquarienverein Freiburg e.V. (Freiburg Aquarium Club) has maintained the aquarium display at the Mundenhof since 1968. At the time, members worked hard to convert a former stable. A well-functioning aquarium was rapidly created using modest funding.
The Aquarium Club offers 12 very well equipped display pools with plants for daily viewing, independent advice on aquarium upkeep and, on Fridays, sells freshwater and seawater fish obtained through selective breeding.

Opening times: daily from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m.

Aquarium size: 500 – 3,000 litres
Breeding area: 10 aquariums
Sales area: 17 aquariums
Sales of bred fish: every Friday from 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.
